What It Is

Laser Acne Therapy is the first FDA approved drugless treatment for acne that actually addresses its cause and delivers impressive results without discomfort or the side effects associated with traditional over-the-counter and prescription treatments.   A medical laser delivers a pulsing beam of light through the skin to the oil producing sebaceous glands that are the root cause of acne.  The light is converted to gentle heat which disables and reduces the size of the glands and kills pore dwelling bacteria with no irritation to the surrounding skin.

In addition to treating the cause of acne, the laser acne therapy will also reduce the appearance of acne scars by elevating depressed or pitted skin.   The laser penetrates the dermal layer of the skin and produces new dermal collagen to elevate the depression. In a short period of time, as this new collagen begins to build up, the appearance of the scar will lessen. Minor acne scarring can actually fade away with time!

What to Expect

Before – Our specialists will meet with you to assess your particular condition and design a treatment schedule that meets your needs and desired results.  The procedure should be repeated at least 4 times and spaced 2 weeks apart.  Treatment of acne scars using this or any other laser skin may be repeated as many times as it takes to achieve the desired results but noticeable fading of scars will be apparent after 2-4 treatments.  These treatments should be spaced 4 weeks apart. You should schedule around 1 hour to check in and receive your treatment in our comfortable spa facility.

During – There is no discomfort associated with this treatment.  You may experience a gentle warming sensation

After – There is no downtime and you can return to your normal routine immediately after treatment.  After the initial round to treatments your skin will be remarkably improved and you should schedule a follow up treatment every six months on an ongoing basis to endure that the condition does not recur.
