Tattoo Removal at NEOS MedSpa FAQ
What is TEPR?
Trans Epidermal Pigment Release used to safely and effectively remove unwanted tattoos, body art and permanent make-up.
How does TEPR work?
Tattoos embed pigment into the skin above the sub dermal fat layer of your body. The pigment is not recognized by your body as being a foreign substance and will remain their indefinitely. TEPR introduces a substance into the pigmented area that enables the body to recognize and reject the foreign ink substances. Healing occurs and new skin is formed under a scab that falls away taking the pigment with it.
How long do the effects last?
The effects of TEPR are permanent. New skin will not always be exactly the same shade as your natural skin but will be close and will blend over time.
Are there any common side effects.
Because TEPR actually removes the pigment from your body there are no side effects to the treatment. This treatment has resolved growing concerns about the carcinogenic potential and unknown ingredients of pigments that are used for tattoos and then released into your body through laser fragmentation.
Do the injections hurt?
The TEPR procedure may cause slight discomfort but this will almost certainly be less that was caused by the initial tattoo. The healing process is practically pain free as long as the area is left to heal naturally and scabs are not removed prematurely.
What to do after your procedure?
After the procedure the treated area should be protected from direct exposure to the sun.
How much does it cost?
TEPR is significantly cheaper than any alternative tattoo removal procedure. This is because it is less expensive to administer and less treatments are needed for optimal results.
- Treatments cost between $150 and $500 depending on size and location of the tattoo on the body. (subject to change)
3 treatments are sufficient for most small to medium size tattoos.
